What it is

Unitree launched the R1-A5 / A7 series of dual-arm humanoid robots in June 2026, building an upper-body manipulation platform on the cost-effective R1 platform. The series comprises four models:

- R1-A5: 5-DOF single arm, 15 DOF (including the gripper), about 11 kg, fixed base - R1-A7: 7-DOF single arm, 19 DOF, about 13 kg, fixed base - R1-A5-D / R1-A7-D: adds a 3-DOF height-adjustable mobile base (18 / 22 DOF), about 30 / 32 kg, for mobile deployment

The series has no legs and cannot walk or dance, but it centers on dual-arm manipulation: 2–4 kg arm payload, 60 Nm shoulder torque, waist yaw of ±150°, head yaw of ±115° / pitch of ±36°, and a stereo vision system with a voice interaction module, making it suitable for tabletop sorting, assembly, research validation, and similar tasks. Starting at CNY 26,900, it is the lowest-priced commercial humanoid robot known on the market, earning it the media nickname "price butcher."
