What it is

NEO Gamma is 1X's second-generation bipedal humanoid for the home, launched in February 2025. It stands 167 cm tall, weighs 30 kg and carries a 25 kg payload. It uses a one-piece knitted shell (StretchKnit) with a carbon-fibre frame, giving it an appearance closer to "robot fabric"; overall noise is only about 22 dB, making it quieter and softer than its predecessor and purpose-designed for shared home environments.

NEO Gamma has 75 degrees of freedom in total (12 in the legs, 14 in the arms, 44 in the hands, 3 in the neck and 2 in the spine), with 22 DOF per hand and tactile sensing. It introduces Tendon Drive, concentrating the motors in the torso and thighs to reduce distal inertia and power consumption. Pricing is about US$20,000 (or a US$499/month subscription), and the company says its goal is to bring humanoid robots into the home.

Since 2025, 1X has been deploying NEO Gamma in consumer homes in Norway and the United States for pilot trials covering everyday chores such as pouring coffee, clearing tables and washing and folding laundry, while continuing to move toward volume production.
