What it is

Apollo is Apptronik's general-purpose full-size humanoid robot, launched in August 2023. It stands 173 cm tall, weighs 73 kg and can carry a 25 kg payload, 25% more than the 20 kg of Tesla Optimus and Figure 01. It uses a modular design with swappable battery packs and configurable end effectors, and comes in three forms: bipedal walking, wheeled torso and fixed/stationary.

Apollo focuses on manufacturing and logistics: repetitive physical work such as tote handling, palletising and machine loading and unloading. Since March 2024 it has been piloted at Mercedes-Benz factories for parts assembly and handling, with Jabil and GXO also partners; in 2025 it established a partnership with Google DeepMind and released the second-generation Apollo 2. Apptronik plans volume production in 2026.

The company was incubated from the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin and was deeply involved in NASA's Valkyrie programme; it has raised more than US$1.4 billion in total.
